Dancing Souls

Her feet; they always moved to the beat that was in her ears. She would sometimes gently sway her body to the music they played. Music was her refuge. Her dad would wake her up, bright and early with music that would brighten her day, along with her whole life. In her spare time, she sang her heart out while dancing without a care in the world. She, like her father, knew and understood that music goes beyond the beat and the words that artists release from the depths of their souls. Music for them, was a way to bring peace and harmony to their home; and dancing was her way of sharing the harmony with the world. That was it; that was all that she knew. Tshenolo - a Revelation!

I am a chosen one. A start of something new in my family. The first. First child. First grandchild. First everything to my parents, grandparents, and uncles. I am precious. A jewel. My ancestors' precious gem. I am every beautiful thing under the sun. Thank you. God blessed my family with my life when they least expected it. I can imagine the confusion and the stress that my mom and our whole family felt when they had to prepare for my birth. But the time came for my mom to give birth. And my grandmother; she held me and saw kindness. Hence the name Mosa. And therefore, I will carry myself with grace and kindness for as long as I live.
